An Auto color selection feature which allows the densitometer to determine the color being measured and to tell you what it is. this can really save time and reduce mistakes. A method of zeroing on a standard while measuring density, (density x 10, Dot, etc.) is very helpful in making comparisons.

Transmission or reflection can each be completely calibrated by simply entering two sets of numbers and taking two measurements. Also, the calibration of one does not in any way effect the calibration of any other, and those calibrations and held in a continuous memory system that remembers for several years even if the cord is unplugged.

At the end of the day I took Peter’s gamble. He and the team at Viprofix were so confident in their product and more importantly, their technical ability to refurbish the used trendsetter. After getting to know Peter and a couple of the technicians, I figured out it wasn’t a gamble at all. These guys really know what they are doing. They even configured my Trendsetter to output a small plate (AB Dick 360) that was outside of the specs for my machine.

The machine has worked flawlessly since December of 2007. Outside of filters and a good tune up, we haven’t had any additional expenses. We have had zero downtime. With our old Glunz and Jensen, our pressman would bounce back on average 10 plates a week for an image problem. Now, it never happens because of an image problem.

Everyone’s situation is different so I encourage you to do your due diligence when choosing a company to handle your prepress equipment needs. If Viprofix is not part of the process, you have really cut yourself short. Feel free to call me if you need some more encouragement.
